🪡 Simply Sampled Quilt Class with Debi Workman

Saturday & Sunday, October 24–25 and November 7–8, 2026 · 10:30 AM–2:30 PM (all four days)

Build a skill-building sampler over two weekends. Working from Jeni Baker's Simply Sampled, you'll make twelve different blocks and pick up the techniques that show up in nearly every quilt pattern you'll ever open — half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, flying geese, strip piecing and more. Debi takes them one at a time, so each block teaches something new and you leave with a finished top at 54" x 67".

Two weekends means you have a break in the middle to catch up, and time in class to work through the pieces that gave you trouble.

Skill level: Advanced beginner. You should be comfortable operating your machine on your own — threading it, winding and changing a bobbin, changing a needle, using a rotary cutter, and sewing a 1/4" seam. If any of those are shaky, come anyway; we work on them in class.

Format: Sit and sew — bring your machine.
Class size: Limited to 5, so there is plenty of one-on-one time.

🧵 Supplies: The Simply Sampled pattern is required and available here at Quilter's Cottage. Fabric requirements: 15 fat quarters, 2/3 yard sashing, 1 yard border, 1/2 yard binding, plus 3 1/2 yards backing and 62" x 75" batting for finishing. Bring your machine in good working order with cords, bobbins and presser feet, plus rotary cutter, mat, acrylic ruler, pins, scissors, seam ripper, marking pen and coordinating thread.
